A little garden of my own
I can remember when we were kids my grandmother gave each of us kids our very own window box to plant flowers in. Naturally she helped us to fill them with the gravel, soil, and plants, but she made us feel that we were in charge of our very own garden window boxes. Then she made a big presentation around hanging the boxes on her windows, and she even put stakes in the window boxes with our names on them, so that anyone that might want to admire them would know who planted them!
It was always fun to go to her house afterward and check and see how each little garden was doing. It was rather fun, having a little garden of my own! As the seasons changed, so did our plantings. I especially enjoyed decorating them up for Halloween; I put little scarecrows and gourds in my little garden! Grandma sure knew how to make us each feel special!
Year round school
I thnk that it would be a good idea for the public school system to have the kids go to school all year long, and not have a long summer break. During the summer many children forget what they learned during the previous school session and when school starts up again in the fall the teachers have to give them a refresher course. If the kids went to school all year, that would not be an issue. I think that there could be a two or three week break every now and then, to have the number of school days not exceed what they currently have, but I think it would be better for the children. What do you think?
