Garth Brooks
A good friend of mine has the opportunity to get his hands on a handful of Garth Brooks tickets and has invited me to come along for the ride to Las Vegas come February 13. Sounds good to me, I haven’t been to any type of concert in quite some time and I’m certainly due at this point. Garth Brooks is known for putting on a good show and is very popular down this a way in the grand state of Texas.
This friend of mine is known for always coming up with the best Ceasars Palace Tickets and TD Banknorth Garden Tickets every now and then, so this came as a surprise since Garth Brooks will be performing at the Encore Theater this time around. But Vegas will do nicely in my book and I’m looking forward to getting away from the house and having a good time with a couple of friends for a long weekend.
Saturday, February the 13th is the day before Valentine’s day and since I’m not seeing anyone seriously at this point in time I have no need to stick around town and I’m sure there will be plenty of other things to keep us entertained for the rest of the weekend besides the concert. The food, the drinks, the gambling, all of the pretty women, it’s all good!
Blogging for Cash
I have been hearing of some folks that are earning money on their blogs. I’m thinking that it might be a good idea to check into some of the companies that I have heard of and see what it is all about. Doesn’t seem to me that a just plain guy like me could actually make any money doing stuff like blogging! It will be interesting to see what I can come up with. The few places I’ve checked out so far don’t want to pay very much for the work involved. I have to wonder who would do all that work for so little money!
The market
One of the conveniences that today’s Internet offers to it’s users is the ability to get involved in Stock Trading quickly and easily. There is a plethora of information on the Internet about how to find an Online Broker and enter the world of Online Trading. Did you know that the vast majority of Americans don’t own any stock at all? I recently found out that if someone falls onto hard times and goes to apply for food stamps or other social services that they are usually refused those services if they own any stock?
I think that is a sad state of affairs. I can understand putting a reasonable limit on how much stock one can own, but to I think that the current guidelines are too severe. If the administration wants to help people then they would encourage them to save their money and to invest some of it in the stock market! That particular restriction about not having any money invested is one reason that more people don’t save their money!
After all the hype, what a disappointment!
After all the mystery and the hype, I guess this consumer’s reaction says it all! Not gonna waste my money!
I sure wish that mobile broadband was cheaper
Internet services are something that is becoming more important to people almost on an exponential basis! I can remember how excited people were when dial-up services were first introduced. People were so impressed with how fast their information could be transmitted from one place to another! We even got a special additional telephone line installed in our house so we could be on the Internet all day if we wanted to be without tying up the regular phone line. We thought we were right out in front in the technology world!
Then we heard about how dsl services were coming and how much faster that is compared to dial-up. Unfortunately we put ourselves on the waiting list for that service over five years ago and still never heard back about it being available to us! So my advice to y’all about dsl is this: don’t hold your breath! If the only option you have for the Internet is dial-up, then I highly suggest that you take it! It just isn’t worth being without the Internet – it is such a valuable resource to have! I’d feel lost without it!
