Life is unpredictable
Today I was running errands and saw a lot of police cars lining the street that I was driving down. State police, County Sheriff, and Town Police were all there. Blue lights flashing! There was even a canine officer with her dog there. I’m not used to seeing so muc activity in our little town. I wondered what in the world was going on! A few moments later I heard from a shopper in town that they were looking for an escaped prisoner! A tall white male in his late 20s. I wonder if they caught him!
Financial security
Over the past couple months I’ve been thinking about buying some term life insurance to make sure that my bills are paid off if anything bad happened to me. I would hate to leave any financial burdens on the shoulders of my family after my passing.
Dead battery
I lent my car to Jeff yesterday so he could go meet some friends at the Metro station and go to a party. He returned the car last night after I went to bed so I didn’t check the car out. I was surprised and disappointed this morning to find that the lights had been left on all night and now the battery was dead and I had to jump start the car before I could head off to work today. Next time I see Jeff I’ll have to ask him to be more careful in the future.
Trouble with an ebay vendor
I wonder how many of you out there have had trouble with an ebay vendor. I was buying quite a few things off of ebay recently, and was having pretty good luck with the purchases. However there was one vendor who never sent the item. They never entered on the ebay program any shipping information. After waiting 14 days I sent two different emails to the vendor asking if the item had been shipped. The vendor never replied, so I finally resorted to leaving negative feedback on the vendor and putting in a claim on paypal for the item never being received.
Almost imeediately the vendor contacted me and said that they were shipping the item that same day. Here it is, over a week later and still no item. And today I got an email from the vendor claiming that I have received the item now and to please release the money to pay for it. But I still haven’t received the item! So I replied that I haven’t received it yet. I hope it comes soon, or that the vendor at least sends me a tracking number so we can track it down!
Paula asked for my help
While I was at Paula’s house, we started talking about how much fun I’ve been having with my blog. Paula asked me if she could see it, so we spent about an hour at her computer reading the various posts on the blog. Then she asked me to help her to set up a blog of her own. I asked her if she wanted to have her own domain name, or just be part of one of the free blog sites. She told me that she wanted her own domain name, so I explained to her that we would have to pick out a domain name that she liked and buy it. It takes a couple of days to get that registration process going, and then we would have to buy a web site hosting account to park her blog.
Since Paula is very interested in saving the environment, we went to the webhostinggeeks.com website to look at the green web hosting services that they rank and review. I think that it’s great that there are some web hosting companies that are trying to minimize their impact on the environment, and I want to support them as much as possible!
