Soccer Sources
We just got our nine year old signed up for soccer tryouts here in our local school system and he was wanting to know if he could wear his favorite team shirt in the games. We told him he would need to wear his own teams uniform during practice and games but he could wear his shirt wherever he liked any other time.
Being only nine, he is very bright for his age. I found a website and showed him all the interesting team-wear and accessories involved with the sport of soccer. Automated Bed Mover
Yesterday a family member asked if I would come over today to help her set up a set of bunk beds in her sons room. Of course, I told her I would because she cannot depend on a loser spouse to help her out with anything.
While I was there yesterday she showed me the parts and I went ahead and walked them up to her living room so we would have them up there to start putting together. I know if I had a job such as hers, acquiring lost things, and things left behind, I would definitely open up my own thrift store.
I was a wondering though! That entertainment center she wants to move up the two flights of stairs will take more than just me and her to move. She said she would get her spouse to get some help and do it and if he doesn’t, there just may be some issues to arise out of that.
It would be nice to invent a small powerful motorized dolly that would grip carpeting and stairs and pull itself up slowly as someone holds the furniture or dolly in place on the stairs, similar to a grapple and hook system but made of something that would not damage the carpeting or the floor. A simple motorized dolly with a simple attachment to place on the wheels for the grapple and pull affect! Interesting concept though.
My niece is expecting
My dear nice Becky is expecting her first child in a couple of months. She has asked me to help her and her husband to help them to fix up the room that they are going to be using for the nursery, so today I went over to their house to see what they have in mind. When I got to her house, Becky was shopping online for some Baby Bedding to put in the room when it is finished. She told me that she was having a hard time deciding which bedding design to choose. There are several sets from the babybeddingpalace.com website that she likes a lot. She asked me for my opinion and I told her that was NOT my department at all!
A New Car
I just finished reading an article on the new car coming from India, the Tata Nano. It looks something like the current Smart Car we see around town only more oval in dimension, similar to the old style VW Bugs.
It doesn’t appear it has a large engine so it would not be good at taking off quickly in heavy traffic or shooting into highways really fast. For around town, it would be a wonderful little car.
At the price they may start offering the car for three thousand or less, it is going to mean that more people that cannot afford new cars can now afford them.
I think the new Tata Nano is great if they can build in some of the US safety features needed to get it out onto our roadways. Its going to be a welcome new car to the market and a gas saver. Despite the lack of take-off power in the car, I think the Tata Nano will definitely take a piece into getting our economy jump started.
New Job Op
My immediate supervisor called me this morning to inform me there was an internal posting at one of the schools. She was aware I wanted to stop driving and go back to work in the classroom.
I immediately emailed the school supervisor which stated I had to apply on line for the job and she wanted to talk to me in the morning at 8. The job was not posted on the web site so I went up to human resources to find out how to apply.
Human resources had me log on to their terminals and use a set web address to access the internal postings. One was there but the one I needed was not. The human resources technician spoke to me on the phone an hour later and asked me to call her back in an hour. They were still working on the posting and did not know whether or not it was going to post as internal or external. She informed me she would call me back to let me know by the end of the day.
Did she call? No she did not and I still have an interview in the morning at 8. Maybe they decided to post that opening as internal as well. I don’t know. Either way I still have not applied and I was requested to. I will have to tell her that the technician did not call me back and it still was not posted as of last evening.
I do hope I get the job so I can stop driving the bus. Ten years has been enough and I need the change of pace. Maybe this is the opportunity I need finally.
