Ranting Against the Stimulus Plan
Rick Santelli has this big rant on YouTube about how America does not want this big stimulus plan. America does not want to pay their neighbor’s mortgage when their neighbor has a bigger house that they couldn’t afford in the first place and now their bad behavior is being rewarded with cash from the Government.
There was a lot of support from the guys on the Stock Exchange for what Rick was saying in this video rant that aired on CNBC, including one guy who made the point that maybe ALL of America should just stop paying their mortgages and let the Government reward everyone for bad behavior.
I don’t know how you can expect the rest of America to keep paying their mortgage and working hard every day when a huge number of our fellow citizens continue to live way beyond their means and don’t deserve to live in the MaMansions that they can’t pay for. Where’s my reward for paying my own way and working for a living and being responsible about controlling my personal debt?
Losing More Jobs to Mexico
We heard rumors back around Christmas that the company is shutting down their operations in Texas and Tennessee and moved them to Mexico. Obviously, the company doesn’t want the word to get out and have everyone start looking for another job and leave them without workers their last several months still in the U. S. But it’s not fair to the workers to just hand out a pink slip someday and say “Adios!”
So Fluidmaster finally stepped up and admitted that the rumors are true. They are shutting down in June. They are promising a bonus to people who stay on until the last days. I wonder if we would have any recourse if they welched on the bonus deal? What are you going to do? Chase them to Mexico and sue them down there? Right.
White Face vs Black Face
The past couple of years there have been white guys who put on a black face as part of a costume for various reasons and were persecuted for being racist. So why is it OK for Shaq to put on white face? I don’t see the need for a white mask to dance around a stage. I think this was a racist act and object to it being promoted on Youtube and wherever else.
Super Bowl Commercials
Was it just me? Or did everyone else think the Super Bowl commercials were pretty lame this year?
The only ones that seems to have any heart were the ones for Budweiser. I did not like the ones for anyone else, except maybe the one about taxes, with a characterization of Death promising to come back. That was a little creppy but funny.
