End of 2008
This year I’m not interested in staying up late and getting drunk to celebrate the New Year. My ex will be at the only party that my friends are going to, so that would not be much of a celebration. I think I’ll stay home and play some poker on the internet and watch the boob tube. My folks are going down to the lodge with their friends, so I’ll have the house to myself.
I have been winning some money on the play for free poker site. I am really tempted to sign up with about 100 bucks and see if the cards play the same when you have real money at risk. Winning some money would be a great way to start the New Year don’t you think?

Deadline for Mailing Gifts
I know Christmas is just around the corner but I’ve been in denial for the past few days. Now I find out that today is the deadline for getting packages to the post office to mail them and be sure that they will be received by Christmas. I guess I screwed up because I haven’t even bought the couple of gifts that I need to mail. So I need a “Plan B” and I had better busy shopping for the list of people that I’m sharing Christmas with.
Weird Weather
What is up with this weather? For the first time in many many years southern Texas has had a snow storm. This storm also brought snow to New Orleans for the first time in years.
People in Texas don’t “do” snow very well. We are used to heavy rains and a few tornadoes. But snow and ice will shut down the whole city.
