The Comedy Channel

I’m so grateful for the Comedy Channel. The old saying that laughter is the best medicine is so true. One of my favorite shows on the Comedy Channel is Josh.O, I don’t know what it is about Josh, but he just cracks me up each time I watch him and he keeps me coming back for more.

Toilett Paper Commercial

My favorite commercial, comes from a toilet paper company. The first time I saw it, I couldn’t stop laughing because of how funny it looked.

It’s about a guy coming out of the bathroom, telling his wife that they are out of toilet paper. In an instance, you see a toilet paper roll fly up, barely striking the guy at the side of his head while it is flying by. The funny part about this is that as the roll is flying by, it shaves off a section of his hair because of how rough it supposedly is.

In the next scene, he comes out again, asking for another roll. Just to have it puff up into a million fluff balls because it’s too soft this time. Of course, the third time he dares to ask for another roll, hiding by the door, he is tossed the right toilet paper, which the commercial is for and everyone is happy. I just love the first part of the commercial, where he has a strip of hair missing after the paper roll zooming by.

I’m glad I have cable tv, where I can just record my favorite shows, and commercials to my DVR to watch over and over again.

Lazy Summer Days by the Pool

Thanks to my friend Amanda Rice for the guest post.

Once summer rolls around we all spend most of our days by the pool. We keep up a pool cleaning routine all through fall and winter as it only takes a few minutes each day to do and that way it is ready to use as soon as the weather heats up. The water is fairly cool during the first part of summer, but it soon warms up to where you can spend all afternoon in the pool. We even spend a lot of our summer evenings in the pool as well. There is nothing quite like leaning on the side of the pool and sipping your favorite cocktail!

At least once or twice a year we make our three hour trek to the beach. It has become somewhat of a summer ritual, once in the beginning of summer and then again towards the end. We never miss our first trip, but sometimes we become so embroiled in things at home that we forget summer is slipping away from us. I do not enjoy the beach as much as I did when I was younger, perhaps because I do not get the same thrill that I used to from playing in the sand. Sand tends to annoy me now, especially if it is the least bit windy and I am trying to eat a sandwich or an ice-cream.

We get very good satellite TV coverage all the time, and summer is no exception. When we want to check what channels we get, we can go to bestchoicetv.com. I always consider that to be fortunate as otherwise I think we would spend too much time indoors and it is a shame to miss out on those beautiful summer days.

The Colbert Report on Comedy Central

I was watching my daily dose of the The Colbert Report on my Direct TV satellite TV the other night and it occurred to me that many people might actually take Stephen Colbert seriously. Democrats will find this show so overly and exaggerated republican that it is almost a ‘point and laugh’ at republican type show. It wasn’t until the other night that I thought republicans might just find the show highly amusing as well.

Much like Bill O’Reilly, Stephen Colbert almost mocks and criticizes his guests. Often playing an overly republican roll, Stephen Colbert’s blunt and sometimes controversial comments could be misconstrued by a Republican as actually being facts.

There has been much news media coverage about this show. Often this coverage contains criticism for Stephen Colbert and The Colbert Report however, the show continues to grow it’s following. Stephen Colbert will sometimes report on this news coverage in an almost obscene way. He strikes down anyone that opposes him with “off the wall” assumptions on the report’s character. The Colbert Report and Stephen Colbert first started as a part of the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Stephen Colbert would often play a correspondent reporter. Now Stephen Colbert has his own show. While The Daily Show tends to be more news worthy it is important to note that it is much like The Colbert Report in its comedic style of report off the wall news stories. While most Americans claim they don’t have time for the news these types of shows are growing in popularity as they do give some political news coverage in a lighter setting then watching a full time news station. I can imagine we will see more of these shows in the feature.

Lesson learned?

Interesting debunk – but I think the REAL lesson here is this: Don’t say you are going to reprimand the film crew until they have stopped filiming! LOL!

I do like his parting quote – “Love with your heart, use your head for everything else.” That is good advice!
